Are you licensed to work/practice in the United States?
Yes. While I live in Toronto, I am originally from the U.S. I completed medical school, residency, and fellowship training in the U.S. I maintain my board certifications with the
American Board of Pathology (Forensic Pathology and Anatomic Pathology), as well as my license to practice medicine in the U.S.
Do you actively practice forensic pathology and perform autopsies?
Yes. I currently work as a forensic pathologist with one of the busiest offices in North America. In addition to performing forensic autopsies, I also perform hospital autopsies at Toronto General Hospital, ranked as one of the leading hospitals in the world.
Have you testified in depositions and trials?
Yes. Working as a forensic pathologist in busy, urban offices has provided me with a great deal of experience testifying in numerous trials. I have testified in many depositions, as well as in civil trials for plaintiffs and defendants.
I have been qualified as an expert witness in multiple jurisdictions in the U.S. and Canada.
Do you have specialized training in cardiovascular pathology?
Yes. In addition to board certification in Forensic Pathology and Anatomic Pathology, I have additional training and experience in cardiovascular pathology, which involves specialized examinations of the heart and blood vessels. I served as the cardiovascular pathology consultant for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office in Chicago and I currently work part-time as a cardiovascular pathologist at Toronto General Hospital, one of the busiest cardiac centers in North America.
How quickly are you able to review cases and complete reports?
My schedule is flexible, so I am able to meet the needs of clients based on their timelines with quick turnaround times, if needed.
Do you consult on international cases?
Yes. I can serve as an expert witness internationally and have consulted on cases across North America and Europe.
Do you perform private autopsies?
No. I review records, photographs, and slides (histology) from autopsies performed by other pathologists and provide opinions about the findings.
